Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Foundation Training Series
with Margery Chessare and Ellen Mossman
Our sixth year-long Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Training
is now underway in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The next series will begin in early 2014. If you wish to be notified,
please contact us and have your name added to our
Turtle Back Craniosacral Education email list.
All craniosacral practitioners, novice through advanced, are welcome!
This series begins with three consecutive full-day classes taught by Margery and Ellen. Then we'll meet every four weeks (except August) throughout 2012 and into 2013. The beauty of studying craniosacral therapy slowly over time is that it allows participants ample opportunity to digest and practice this meditative approach to bodywork. Each day’s format will include perceptual exercises, hands-on practice, lecture and discussion.
Students will have assigned readings in handouts and textbooks, which are available here at the Turtle Back Bookstore. Brief session write-ups and/or journaling will be expected as the training proceeds.
For those who wish to continue, this training fulfills the first of approximately three years of study in our 700-hour Biodynamic Certification program. The total hours represent a combination of classwork and independent study/practice. BCST Certification from Turtle Back Craniosacral is recognized by the International School of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
The experience of Biodynamic CST can be deeply profound for both giver and receiver. The nervous system slows gently, seeking balance, facilitating our innate capacity for health and self-regulation. Unlike most forms of bodywork, Biodynamic craniosacral therapy addresses the 75 percent of our body that is fluid, rather than the 25 percent that is structure or tissue. Unique to this model of craniosacral therapy is reference to the stages of human embryonic development as guide and metaphor.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is subtle yet expansive...still yet dynamic...quiet yet potentially life-changing. We synchronize with stillness and practice mindful presence. In this work "perception is developed as a fine art." The practitioner learns to engage with the inherent healing wisdom that exists naturally in every being.

"Thank you and Ellen again for such a wonderful and awakening beginning! I look at everything so differently, the patterns of bark on a tree, the snow drifts, the subtle movement of tree branches . . . . it all leads me to a flowing mental picture that I have been using in my work. Thank you very much for all of your time, thought and love for what you do because it truly translated into a beautiful and informative experience. I am so very excited for the year and all to come!"

"Thanks so much to you for presenting these amazing BCST classes every month. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such amazing work. I have learned so much and I love the people who come to the classes. So many different stories and needs to heal self and others. Margery, you are such an inspiration. I had forgotten how interesting it really is to study the body and how everything fits together to connect us as human beings!"
